Bioenergy

Bioenergy, a renewable energy source, creates usable energy from living or recently living organisms such as biomass (wood, plants, waste), biogas (landfill gas/methane) or biofuels (ethanol, biodiesel).
Guelph Hydro Inc. owns Envida Community Energy Inc., an alternative energy company that generates electricity from landfill gas at the City of Guelph's Eastview Landfill site.
